KuCoin’s Terms of Use, last updated 29 September 2026, list these Restricted Locations in article 17(5): the United States and its territories, Singapore, mainland China and Hong Kong, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, France, the Netherlands, two Canadian provinces and five regions of Ukraine. We read the page on 19 October 2026. We show no KuCoin button and no code on this page.

The full list from the Terms of Use, article 17(5)

The Terms say that the user is not a resident of, or registered in, any of the Restricted Locations, and that Restricted Locations “shall include” the places below. The list is quoted from KuCoin; we add nothing from memory.

Country or regionAs written in the Terms of Use
United States”the United States (including its territories such as Puerto Rico, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, etc)“
Singapore”Singapore”
China and Hong Kong”the mainland of China and Hong Kong”
Malaysia”Malaysia”
Kazakhstan”Kazakhstan”
Uzbekistan”Uzbekistan”
Canada”Ontario, and British Columbia of Canada”
France”France”
Netherlands”Netherlands”
Ukraine”the Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine”

The Terms add that the list “may be updated from time to time at the Platform’s sole and absolute discretion”. A country that is not on this list is not a guarantee of service. Check the official page and your local rules before you register.

Is KuCoin available in the US?

No. The United States is on the list above. KuCoin announced on 16 January 2025 that it would close all accounts of US users effective January 23, 2025, at 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST). The announcement says that after that date, withdrawals go through KuCoin support with a one-time fee of 30 USDT. Read the announcement for the steps.

On 30 March 2026 the CFTC announced that a federal court entered a permanent injunction against Peken Global Limited. The release says Peken Global is prohibited from allowing US participants to access the KuCoin exchange without registering, and was ordered to pay a civil monetary penalty of $500,000. It also says that in a parallel criminal case Peken Global pleaded guilty to one count of operating an unlicensed money transmitting business. The release is on the CFTC site.

We do not give ways to reach KuCoin from a restricted location. If you are in the United States, follow the withdrawal guidance on KuCoin’s own announcement.

Canada: Ontario and British Columbia

The Terms name two provinces, Ontario and British Columbia. They do not name Canada as a whole. We make no claim about any other province beyond what the Terms say.

Ukraine: five regions

The Terms name the Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions of Ukraine. They do not name Ukraine as a whole.

The European Economic Area

France and the Netherlands are on the list above. We do not promote KuCoin in the European Economic Area. If you live there, see our guides to Bybit and OKX, which show what we confirm for your country.

How to check your country before you register

Start with the list above, then read article 17(5) on KuCoin’s own Terms of Use page, because the Terms say the list may be updated at KuCoin’s discretion. The wording matters: the Terms say a user must not be “a resident of or registered in” a Restricted Location. That is a statement about residence and registration, so read the exact sentence on the official page rather than a summary, including ours. If your country or region is named, do not register. If it is not named, that is still not a promise that KuCoin will accept you, because KuCoin can add places and can apply its own checks at sign-up.

What this page does not cover

  • Local law. The list is KuCoin’s own contractual list. It is not a legal opinion about what is allowed where you live, and a place missing from it may have its own rules for crypto services.
  • Other KuCoin products. We read article 17(5) of the general Terms of Use. We did not read separate product terms, so we make no statement about them.
  • Fees, bonuses and rewards. We state none here. This page is about where KuCoin says it does not serve users, not about what it offers.
  • Changes after the check date. The Terms were last updated on 29 September 2026 when we read them. A newer version can differ. Each fact above carries the date we checked it.

How we keep this page current

Every country in the table is copied from the Terms of Use and linked to the source with a check date. We do not add a country from memory, from a news article or from another website’s list. When KuCoin publishes a new version of the Terms, we compare the list with this page and change the page and the dates together. The CFTC facts come from the agency’s press release of 30 March 2026; cftc.gov could not be opened from our review environment on 20 October 2026, so those lines repeat what our editorial team read on the official page and carry the earlier check date. Read the release itself before you rely on it. For how we check sources, see How we verify and the editorial policy.

Where our code works

This page shows no code. Our KuCoin referral code page explains where we show the code and where we do not, and has a section for places where KuCoin does not accept new users. To see how we check facts, read How we verify.
